If there is a leak from the oil seals at the inner ends of front-wheel-drive shafts, the shafts must be removed and the seals renewed - a task best left to a garage. A front-wheel-drive car has oil seals on the drive shafts at the front wheels.

As soon as I walked into the garage I smelled it. About 1/4 quart of oil leaked out of the trans. It is coming from the clutch hub area of the primary cover.

Most common 4 speed transmission leaks are attributed to the following areas. 1) I.D. or O.D. of the large main drive gear seal 2) Between the shoulder of the main drive gear and the backside of the main drive gear spacer. The bolt to drain the transmission oil on my 2005 is leaking. The screw tightens in but after a point it gets loose, so its striped. How can i fix this? What the easiest/cheapest way possible.
